1st day of the trial

I am going to compare the hands that i get dealt from 2 different sites. The middle card in ranking of a suit is an 8 so as you get dealt 2 cards in texas hold'em an average hand would be 8 8 which is worth a total of 16 points( an ace is given the value of 14). i was dealt 2 lots of 20 hands from the 2 sites that i use and these are todays results.

Site 1 ( the main site that i have been using)

Number of pocket pairs 1
Times the 2 cards were suited 5
Number of times i got a pair on the flop 8
( 2 top pair 3 middle 3 bottom)
Total points from the 20 hands 270 giving an average of 13.5

Site 2

0 pocket pairs
5 times they were suited
5 times they were paired on the flop
( 1 middle pair and 4 bottom)
Total points from the 20 hands 323 giving an average of 16.15

It shoud be noted that the average score from 20 hands should be 320 or 16 points per hand.

I will not be commentating on the results until i have more data.

Start of a blogging adventure

In the midst of an unbelievable series of bad beats and plain just crap cards i have decided to start a blog as a way of releasing my anger and also to see if it is possible( to my own satisfaction) to prove that the random card generators are not producing random cards. The sites hide behind the argument of varriance and whatever the number of hands you have been dealt they say you should have 10 times that amount.From tomorrow i will play 20 hands on my usual online site and then 20 on another site. I will compare the hands in a number of ways and hopefully over a period of time i will be able to come to a conclusion to my own satisfaction.

My reason for wanting to do this is that having been playing on line poker for just over a year, and having made a reasonable profit, it seems that I now go through a period of 3 days when i win a sizeable amount of money and then come to an abrupt halt. as you can guess today has been in the middle of one of those drought periods with the final straw being having my AA cracked by the mighty 5 6 o.s.( and yes i do know that it can happen). I also think that going 98 hands without being dealt a pocket pair is also still in my mind. So on to tomorrow and the first series of hands and the categories that i will compare them in.
